The Cattle Sanitary Board was composed of sixcattle raisers and owners of neat cattle. The Board was responsible formaking rules and regulations to prevent introduction of contagious orinfectious diseases affecting cattle and horses; for inspecting cattleintended for shipment, sale, or slaughter and for inspecting hides andslaughter houses; for keeping the State Brand Book; and for other activities (NMSA 1915). This collection consists of one volume of "Abstracts of Warrants Issued bythe Cattle Sanitary Board" from July 1906 through December 1913.Information contained includes check number, date, payee, and expensecategory, including compensation of inspectors; postage, printing, andstationery; office salaries; expenses of members; expenses of inspectors;general expenses; strays paid for; and legal expenses. Also includeswarrants issued against a contagious and infectious disease fund and aneradication fund for some years.
